Looking to spend your weekend morning eating breakfast/brunch and sipping on a warm cup of coffee or a spicy Bloody Mary?

Brunching is one of my favorite activities to do with my friends! I love starting my weekend morning off with friends eating at new locations. Take a look at some of my top recommendations for brunch in the area!

Winstead's

Located: multiple locations

This diner in Kansas City opened in the 1940's and has been serving up delicious dishes since! Winstead's is a staple in Kansas City for their steakburgers and breakfast. The menu is simple but each dish is amazing! Grab your food to go in the drive-thru, or dine inside of the 1940's themed restaurant. We went for breakfast and enjoyed the breakfast platter, pancakes, and biscuits & gravy. If you haven't been to Winstead's, make sure to add it to your Kansas City food bucket list!

Denver Biscuit CO.

Located: 4144 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64111

You already guessed it...I ordered shrimp & grits at the Denver Biscuit Company located in the Westport district of Kansas City. Their biscuits are stacked high with ingredients...you won't leave hungry! There are several Denver Biscuit locations spread across the county, but you won't want to leave Kansas City without eating here for brunch. The Lola and the Franklin are two of their top ordered biscuits on the breakfast menu...and we know exactly why! If you are feeling up to the sweet challenge, make sure to order their giant cinnamon roll before you leave.

Eggtc.

Located: 5107 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64112

Eggtc KC is another popular spot to enjoy breakfast and brunch. I love to try new dishes here because I am never disappointed. The wait can get pretty long, so I would suggest getting there early and expect a line. Although the line may look long, the tables are turned pretty quickly! Pictured below: Build your own taco plate and eggs benedict with hash browns.

BLVD Tavern

Located: 320 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108

We recently went to BLVD Tavern for our book club meet up and everyone was extremly impressed with the brunch entrees! BLVD tavern has brunch and Bottomless Drinks on the weekends. Table favorites for brunch included the fried chicken dish, the eggs Benedict with potatoes dish, and the fluffy blueberry French toast entree with bacon. This spot serves other great items during the week! If you are looking for your next restaurant and tavern in Kansas City to hang with friends, snag a drink, or enjoy brunch on the weekend, BLVD Tavern is the spot to check out!

Brown & Loe

Located: Kansas City, Missouri in the River Market

Brown & Loe is a sophisticated restaurant located in the River Market that offers lunch, dinner, a full bar, and even brunch on the weekends. Stop by to grab some brunch after walking and shopping in the farmer's market! Brown & Loe is a perfect spot for a business dinner or even a date!

Neighborhood Café

Located: 7531 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114

I've gone to the Neighborhood Café in Waldo for years now and I can't believe I haven't even reviewed it yet! I am a HUGE fan of places that have free appetizers/snacks & the Neighborhood Café outdoes itself by serving free cinnamon rolls. YUMMMM. Every dish is delicious...I've never been disappointed. FYI for the brunch drinkers..there is no alcohol. The food is worth it though!

Hereford House

Located: Multiple Locations Steak and eggs for breakfast? Count us in! Hereford House launched a brunch menu serving up some incredibly delicious dishes. From mouthwatering steak & eggs to delightful biscuits & gravy to amazing hot honey chicken & waffles, Hereford House needs to be on your list of brunch spots to check out in the greater Kansas City area.

Urban Egg

Located: 4921 W 119th St, Overland Park, KS 66209

Lunch, breakfast, brunch...whichever you prefer, Urban Egg has you covered! Urban Egg Daytime Eatery offers fresh and high quality dishes and drinks from 7-2pm.

The menu is extensive and has several options. From salads, to sandwiches and burgers, to breakfast platters and bowls, and several other options, you can't go wrong with any pick! I ordered the ABCLT sandwich served with homemade scalloped fries with basil dipping sauce. The ABCLT was stacked high with avocado, bacon, cheese, lettuce/mixed greens, and tomatoes. The bread was warm and soft on the sandwich and the ingredients were unbelievably fresh. The produce tasted like it had just been picked from the farm!

Do you enjoy bottomless mimosas?? Urban Egg offers bottomless brunch on the weekend along with fun cocktails everyday!

Thank you Urban Egg for the meal and fresh-squeezed lemonade! Thank you Yelp KC for the adorable Yelp branded coffee mug!

Snooze AM Eatery

Located: 4144 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111

Snooze is an incredibly popular breakfast/brunch restaurant in Kansas City. The wait can be hours long if you don't plan your visit right! We had gone online to reserve our table before we even left the house! This is a great way to save time and avoid waiting outside of the building.

I had ordered the pancake trio and candied bacon...YUM! The breakfast tostada was a table favorite as well. This brunch spot has an entire adult beverage and cocktail menu to start your weekend morning off strong!

Summit Grill

Located: Multiple locations - this one is located in Waldo

Summit Grill is a popular place to eat brunch (as well as lunch and dinner) in multiple locations within the greater KC area. The omelet at Summit Grille is packed with fresh ingredients. You can't visit this restaurant without ordering the pulled pork nachos appetizer. The goat cheese and chicken salad with fresh strawberries is also a table favorite if you are feeling something "lighter" than your typical big dinner or brunch.

Streetcar Grille & Tavern

Located: 1580 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64108

Streetcar Grille & Tavern is a great spot to grab food and drinks in downtown KC (right near the Crossroads district). We visited for brunch and ordered the bottomless mimosas. Our table also started with two sides: the onion straws and the pickle chips. I'm a huge fan of fried pickle chips and this spot nailed it! I ordered the breakfast skillet for my entree. The skillet was stacked with potatoes, gravy, eggs, and bacon. I left completely full! From tenders to burgers to salads and more, there is plenty to chose from and order at Streetcar Grille & Tavern.

The service was great and the food came out quick. You are also in walking distance if several shops to pop into while downtown. Check this spot out today!

I have SOOOO many coffee shop recommendations, that I had to create an entirely separate post to list out all of my favorite coffee shops and cafes in the KC area. I have also went on a Caffeine Crawl which included caffeine tastings at 5 different coffee shops in Kansas City. Click on one of the posts below to read more!

There are plenty of additional restaurants and cafes to grab breakfast/brunch at that I may not have lsited above. Below are some more recommendations within the KC area! When I visit this spot, I'll make sure to update the section with pictures of my meal and a the review of the food!
